Quick Weight Loss Diets – How Healthy Are They?

There is no question that there are some rather effective quick weight loss diets out there. They actually do manage to help you lose considerable amounts of weight in a very short period of time, as long as you follow them carefully. Yet, how healthy are they in the long term? Do those results actually last for long?

What are your reasons for going on a diet that promises rapid weight loss? If you are like most people, you have your exterior appearances on the mind, not your internal health. Most people look to these diets because they have a special occasion coming up or they are desperate to look better, not because they are worried about the health of their heart.

The secret that few people ever discover is that the only way to get skinny and look hot every day, all day, is to truly get healthy. This is a process that starts on the inside and works its way out, rather than the other way around. Diets that only last in the short term may get you skinny real fast, but do they actually keep you skinny long term?

The big flaw in most diet plans that bring about fast weight loss is that they are not sustainable for a long period of time. Often they require such strict rules and complicated measures that most people cannot do it for very long. Once they stop following completely, they find the weight coming back on extremely fast. The results simply do not last and are quite unhealthy in that manner.

But, what if there were a way to take off some weight rather quickly and actually keep it off long term? It simply will never be healthy to lose 20 pounds a week, so you can count that out. Yet, there are some diet plans that actually do deliver a nice weight loss right at the beginning, but then keep you gradually taking the weight off for long term, permanent success.

The trick is to find a plan that teaches you to eat real food in certain combinations and amounts so that you spark real fat loss from your body. You should be less concerned with an initial swoosh of water loss than you are with consistent, long term fat loss. These plans usually do deliver some fast weight loss at the beginning, but that is followed up with consistent fat loss, rather than a rapid weight gain.

If you want to lose the weight fast but actually keep it off, you have to make sure your next plan is healthy, well balanced, and something you can reasonably follow for a long time.

Quick weight loss diets do not have to be for special occasions only. They can in fact be quite healthy, as long as you adjust your expectations. You may not lose at that rapid pace forever, but you can have a fast loss followed by a period of consistent, steady weight loss that leads you to a life of health and happiness.
